One thing that makes me sad is how people live their lives like it means nothing to them. The choices they make don't matter to them, the relationships they get into don't matter, Nothing matters. And the one question I'm dying to ask these people is: do you really not care, or are you just too scared of admitting you care because then you'd actually have something to lose? I wonder. I see the hurt in your eyes. You just write it off like it meant nothing to you, but your eyes tell it all.
Sometimes, we have this mentality that if we don't try too hard, then failing isn't so bad because well, we never even gave it our best shot, right? Maybe you're afraid to tell someone you love them because you're afraid you won't hear it back.
We construct these walls that stop us from really living. What is living if you don't put your best foot forward? What is living if you play it safe all the time? What is living without risking, losing, loving, hurting, feeling?
And a lot of the time, we'll fail. We'll fail miserably. But who cares? No one really cares, but you.
Some people tell me that love doesn't exist anymore, not in this day and age. It's just about being happy for the moment. Let me tell you that love is not old-fashioned. It's not even something remotely related to what century we're living in. Adam loved Eve, my grandparents loved each other. And love still exists.
A friend asked me how I felt about valentine's day. I think it's a great day for people to celebrate love, true love that seems so rare now. It's one day you can express appreciation for your loved ones, but really, valentine's day is just a recognized day you should be living out every day. You don't have to do extravagant things for people every day, but think about them and let them know you love them. I don't understand why people are so bitter about valentine's day being a single awareness day. It's not an attack on singles at all. Valentine's day is about appreciating everyone that loves you and that you love. If you can't be comfortable being single, how are you going to handle being in a relationship?
And here's a quote for my single ladies ;)
"Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you're pretty sexy and you're taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with."
